One Verse That Will Change Your Parenting

I recently read a verse of scripture that has changed my mothering.

It is a verse of scripture I have read several times, but this time, something jumped out at me that I had never paid attention to before. If you really ponder this verse and then pay attention to how this can be applied in your home, you will understand how it can change things completely.

After the Savior was resurrected and He ascended into Heaven from Jerusalem, He came to visit the peoples of the American continent. The record of His visit is found in The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know this book to be true.

Each day Jesus visited with the people on this continent, He had a spiritual experience with their children. Of one of these experiences, it was written,

"And it came to pass that he did teach and minister unto the children of the multitude of whom hath been spoken, and he did loose their tongues, and they did speak unto their fathers great and marvelous things, even greater than he had revealed unto the people; and he loosed their tongues that they could utter...

"Behold, it came to pass on the morrow that the multitude gathered themselves together, and they both saw and heard these children; yea, even babes did open their mouths and utter marvelous things; and the things which they did utter were forbidden that there should not any man write them."

The Savior of the world...the Creator of the universe, allowed little children to teach even greater things than He had taught that day. Something to think about.

Never underestimate a young child's ability to have powerful spiritual experiences and KNOW it. I repeat, NEVER underestimate a young child's ability to have powerful spiritual experiences and to understand the deep things of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This one bit of knowledge can dramatically change the level of spirituality in your home and the spiritual protection which surrounds your children as they leave your home each day.
You can't go with your child everywhere, but Someone Else can. If our children have learned to recognize His voice, they will be okay.
