You are amazing and smart and wonderful and talented and beautiful and spiritual and you have the power to fill the world with goodness and love and joy! Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
If by chance you don't believe this about yourself or you feel that you are not worthy of any of these compliments, please get down on your knees and turn your life over to our Savior because He DOES believe those things about you. You are one of His greatest treasures.
Let me explain...
We all know the scripture that reads, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:21
This verse does not just apply to us. We mortals are not the only ones who have "treasures".
Listen to the words of this beautiful song and listen for who else has treasure in His heart, what (or who) that treasure is and what His love for this treasure lead Him to do...
Treasure the Truth
Kenneth Cope
Treasure, lost in a field
Found by a traveler, then quickly concealed.
Rejoicing, he gives up his all
To have the treasure, the Kingdom of God
Jesus knew we were lost
And came as a traveler to cover the cost
Unfailing, He paid with his death
Hoping we’d join Him in the kingdom of Heaven.
Now truly we see what we are
For treasure will govern the heart.
And if His heart moved Him to die
So we could live
Then His treasure is YOU and I
There is treasure waiting in Heaven
For all who follow the truths He has given.
He bids us, “Come”
So that’s what I will do
To have this treasure
I’ll treasure the truth.
Truly we show what we are
For treasure will govern our hearts
And if our hearts will give up all
To live with Him
Then our treasure is the Son of God
Like treasure laid in a tomb
Brought forth triumphant in glorious view
I pledge my faith
And all that I can do
To win this treasure
He is my treasure
To be His treasure
I'll treasure the truth
I'll treasure the truth
The Savior also has treasure in His heart and that treasure is you and I.
"Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God" Doctrine and Covenants 18:10
Because your value is so great to Him, because He treasures you so highly, He was willing to give you the greatest gift, despite the personal pain and anguish it would bring to Him.
"For behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
"And he has risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.
Repentance can seem scary but it is actually a gift because there isn't a single one of us that doesn't need to repent EVERY SINGLE DAY. And not only does He rejoice when you want to repent, but He will HELP you do it! He will hold your hand and help you through the process.
Repentance comes when we learn to treasure Him and we realize we must give our hearts to Him if we are to live with Him again.
Repentance comes when we learn to treasure Him and we realize we must give our hearts to Him if we are to live with Him again.
If we are the treasures of the Savior's heart and if His love for us was so great that it moved Him to suffer, die and make it possible for us to live forever...
Certainly we can give up the things of the world that crowd Him out of our hearts.
Certainly, as He died for us, we can live for Him.
No treasure in our hearts could be of greater eternal significance and worth!
The reality of Jesus Christ and His Atoning Sacrifice is the Truth we must treasure and hold in highest esteem! Nothing else means more to our eternity than does our understanding of Him and His love for us.
The irony is that He will always treasure you. He may not like what you are doing, but you will always be important to Him - even when He isn't important to you.
